A Social MediaTweetUp! with a Cause ... Tweet For Food!

As mentioned at the 1st Comox Valley TweetUp! ** This Exciting and FUN Event Will Be A Food and Fundraiser For the local Comox Valley FOOD Bank ** So many people and families are in need of food at this time of year. We're going to do what we can as a huge group to help out :)

For this FREE community event, we encourage you to bring your video camera and/or still camera. We will be documenting the event and posting to Social Media specific pages set up for the event.

** ALL FOOD and PROCEEDS will be DONATED to the LOCAL FOOD BANK in the Comox Valley **

*** We have a special guest for this event, Paul Holmes, one of the organizers of the recent and very popular Social Media Camp in Victoria. Paul is a leader on Vancouver Island in the field of Social  Media and Engagement, and will be at our event!

* AND, Location, Location, Location, Location : Thank You to Anh Le, Curator at the Comox Valley ART Gallery for kindly offering us an excellent central location for this TweetUp!

While we Tweet live, you can enjoy the exhibit in the Public Gallery, Stories from a Flickering Plain: Photography and Drawing by Heather Passmore, and mixed media by Janet Wang.

Find out more about the exhibit, where Passmore presents "disappearing drawings" and Wang includes a social media component in the art, with embroidered captions taken from FaceBook and Twitter. Find out more about this ART Exhibit , which runs until December 31st, Right Here

An AWESOME TweetUp with A Cause, combining FOOD (yes, we will have food) AND, the FOOD BANK, and Art and Technology. You don't want to miss this one! If you are on Twitter, we are using the hashtag #TweetUpCV

There are currently 370+ of us on Twitter (and counting) in the Comox Valley so let's see what a showing/how many we can have turn up)

*P.S. If you are not already on Twitter but want to be, then please join us anyway. Everyone is welcome.

Now You Ask, What Is A TweetUp?

Put simply, a TweetUp is an event where people who have met on Twitter, or who are communicating on Twitter, meet face to face in person. An informal event, for people who want to take  online communications, offline, engaging while building relationships.

The Goal of Most TweetUps? Community Engagement :)

Questions or Want To Help Out? This event will need LOTS of help, please.

Please phone Brenda Johima (250) 335 - 1195 or email johima [at] gmail [dot] com

** P.S. P.S. There are also LOTS of DOGS and PETS in need in December as well. Feel Free to Make Your Personal Cause for this Event, FOOD for Dogs, FOOD for Pets :)
